Made reservations! It's a must here. I heard people that didn't get told there would be a 2 hour wait. The place is spacious and very clean and well lite. They have a large area outside the back with seating, games, and music. The food was the main attraction. I selected the Fried Sheepshead & Grit special. I haven't ever had it before and it did not disappoint. However, the collards (side) kind of stole the show. So good! My son enjoyed his Mahi fish and chips, his first time. Only ding on those were the batter soaked up a lot oil. My wife was just okay with her pick (Tree Hugger). Overall, it was a great visit. Very pleased. We'll be back!

All four of our Blue Moon Beach Grills meals over the last two years have been excellent. Very good southern comfort food and an excellent staff! The restaurant is well-designed with plenty of room to stretch-out or move around. I highly recommend BMBG for a visit while on the OBX!

Great spot for a good family meal. They have a nice lawn setting with games, live music, and a bar while you wait for your table. The seafood was delicious!

As if Blue Moon needs another 5-star review... but we loved it so much we came back a SECOND time in our 4-day trip here. They had really good options for food, and the quality was great. Everything was delicious and we had picky eaters (i.e. me). I got the shrimp sandwich that's not a burger and it was really yummy. My girl friends loved the crab cake meals - I thought it was good but the shrimp sandwich was better. The hush puppies special was decent, mahi appetizer was tasty. The service is great too - we are in the South. The ambiance was also great - beach town so dress however (but not like Hawaii casual) so still wear shoes and clothing (not just your bathing suit!). I think I'll just let the photos speak for themselves. The best part might be the dessert. The coconut cream pie and the lemon cake - AMAZING. Do make sure you make reservations, but they have bar area that is first come first served as well. AND a back patio where you can hang out and play some games when it's not raining :) Definitely recommend and I would definitely return :)

Great service and delicious! Highly recommend! Cool oyster fireplace too. I recommend booking a reservation. I came in one night and it was a three hour wait.

The food was absolutely delicious and the waiter was very good! Overall highly recommend an extremely fun environment. We had to wait around an hour to be seated but there's an outdoor bar and plenty of outdoor seating in a yard. Did not feel like an hour at all!

This place was a suggestion from the airbnb host and she definitely knew what she was talking about! There was a wait but I opted to sit at the bar. There is a bar indoors as well as outdoors with plenty of tables to hang out while waiting for your table. I think there was a community table too. Ordered the caesar salad with blackened chicken. This was one of the best salads I've ever had. The dressing was absolutely delish. I'm not good at describing but it definitely tasted a little different. The salad also had bits of bacon, onions (could've done without), parmesan cheese, and tomatoes. I also ordered a Flat Rock cider which was local to Flat Rock, NC. Really refreshing and packed a pineapple punch.

TLDR - great choice if you're looking for entree options that most OBX restaurants aren't offering. Food - we ordered the Brussel sprouts to start. They were good but WAY too much sauce. We couldn't even finish them because the bottom half was soggy. For dinner we split the crab cake and seafood bucatini. The crab cake was good the jalapeño aioli was delicious and really elevated the crab cake - without it, the sandwich would have lacked flavor. The seafood pasta was excellent. Very generous portion of shrimp and scallops but still a bit pricey. Vibes - the restaurant was beautiful with a big porch for outdoor dining. Service - when I mentioned to our waiter that we were splitting our entrees she kindly offered to have the kitchen put each half on separate plates. So thoughtful and made it so much easier to share!

We have eaten here several times. They take reservations but they are very popular so book as early as you can. They open up reservations up to 30 days in advance. Plenty of parking and overflow parking near the back. Staff is on their toes. We didn't have to wait long after checking in for our reserved time. I have eaten their gigantic Philly cheese steak. Get the "wiz" it's worth it. I've also had their burger, it's good and both sandwiches come with fries. All the food is fresh made and comes out in a timely manner.
